George Ervin King was born to Charlie King, Sr. and Sallie B. Nelson-King on May 15, 1950, in Woodlawn, Texas.
He accepted Christ at an early age and united with Friendship Baptist Church #1.
Ervin, as he was affectionately known, attended Marshall, Public Schools. He was a graduate of
H. B. Pemberton High School, Class Of 1969. After he completed high school, Ervin relocated to Houston, Texas to continue his education at Texas Southern University.
Born and raised with a heart of giving and serving others. Ervin dedicated over 30 years delivering furniture for Allied, Inc. He poured out a great deal of love through cooking his specialty pinto beans and barbecuing for family gatherings and sharing with his neighborhood. He enjoyed watching westerns and was a diehard fan of the Dallas Cowboys.
He transitioned from life at Heritage House Of Marshall Health & Rehabilitation Center.
Located in Marshall, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie King, Sr. and Sallie B. Nelson-King ; brothers, Robert, Charlie, Jr., Howard and Leon; and one sister Tammie "T'Myrtle"King Boyd.
Mr. George Ervin King is survived by 2 sisters, Bettie Smith of Marshall, Texas and Glenda King of Kansas City, Missouri; 2 aunts Caddie King and Mary King; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation for George King will be held 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM, Friday, April 10,2026 at Black's Family Center.
