Obituary

“May The Work I Have Done Speak For Me”

Our dear and beloved Aunt, Clemmie L. Adams went peacefully to heaven on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at Heritage House of Marshall Health & Rehabilitation Center, Marshall, Texas.
Clemmie was born in Marshall, Texas on September 30, 1925 to the late Samuel and May Pearl Williams. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and was baptized at Canaan Baptist Church, Marshall, Texas. She attended Pemberton High School and later worked and retired from Good Shepherd Hospital in Longview, Texas. She later relocated back to Marshall, Texas. Upon relocating back to Marshall, she became a member of New Beginnings Christian Center, Pastor Marvin Rhodes. Clemmie was married twice, first to the late Elbert Wilson and after they divorced to the late Nelson Adams. There were no children born to these unions. Clemmie never met a stranger and she loved people. She could talk to anyone and had something in common with everyone. She was known for speaking her mind. If you asked her a question, you would get an honest answer. Clemmie lived by the philosophy that action speaks louder than words; and daily her actions were those of humility, compassion, sacrifice, consideration, honor and love. She loved the Lord, her family and her friends. Her favorite saying was “Jesus is My Everything” Her greatest and proudest achievement was her lifelong, loving and lasting commitment to her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her Beloved Siblings, Reverend Samuel (Chief) Williams Jr,, Willie V. Moore, Velma Jernigan, Jeanetta White Justice, Andrew White Jr. Her niece Regina Jones (Lorenzo) of Fayetteville, North Carolina. Her nephews, Darrel Williams of Seaside, CA and Willie Prentice of Oklahoma. She leaves to cherish her memory brothers, Deon White of Marshall, Texas, Len Williams of Oakland, CA, Orwin Williams, of Sacramento, CA, brother-in-law Pastor Thomas Moore Sr of Marshall, Texas; loving nieces and nephews, Betty Cooper of Marhsall, Texas, Debra Green (Paul) of Houston, Texas, Darlene Moore of League City, Texas, Annette Cooper of Marshall, Texas, Janice Moore of Orange, Texas, Revered Yvonne Kizer of Woodbridge, Virginia, Edith Readis of Oklahoma, Bonita (Charles) Prentice of Oklahoma, Pastor Thomas Moore Jr. of Marshall, Texas, Stanwyck Williams of Fayetteville, NC, Pastor Wrenwyck Williams (Wanda) of Kernersville, NC, David White of Oklahoma, and Otto White of Oklahoma as well as a host of many great nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
